specifically, Sodium Hyaluronate, commonly called hyaluronic acid, is the salt of hyaluronic acid.
This active ingredient is appreciated for its moisturising effect on the skin. It penetrates easily into the epidermis and has the power to bind a large amount of water, up to 20 times its weight.
There are different types of hyaluronic acid, but this one in particular forms a non-occlusive layer, a film on the surface of the epidermis. Its water retention capacity comes from this "ball structure", in which most of the water is captured mechanically, thus stopping the desquamation of the stratum corneum without binding to the molecule. Thanks to the water retention on the surface of the skin, a velvety skin feel is achieved.
